

Phobia can be defined as Irrational, Excessive & Persistent fear of an Object or Situation.The fear is out of proportion to the actual threat. People tend to avoid those situations/objects or endure them with dread. It may be associated with severe anxiety, palpitation, tremulousness, fear of dying/losing control/going mad. It is not relieved by knowledge that other people do not consider those situations/objects as dangerous/threatening. Anticipatory anxiety may be evoked when situation arise of facing it.
